April 2010 Road Warriors

MPMPI's April 8-10 meeting participants are still raving about the red carpet treatment they received from the Omni Bedford Springs and Nemacolin's world class meeting facilities and housing accommodations.

 Middle Pennsylvania Meeting Professionals International Chapter members and guests experienced a whirlwind road trip that included a property tour and lavish reception at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.  Guests toured the resort's spa, historic dining venues and cutting edge conference space. Remarked one attendee, "we received such a warm welcome from the Omni staff. The property is charming and the Eternal Spring that provides the waters to the spa...just amazing."

The group's final destination - Nemacolin Woodlands Resort - provided a unique AAA Five- Diamond experience. Set on 2,000 acres just 40 miles from Pittsburgh, Nemacolin offers 36 holes of championship golf, abundant convention space, unique restaurant options and many diverse on-site recreational activities.  MPMPI conducted meetings and held networking sessions at the property on April 9 and 10. 

Additionally, MPMPI road warriors had a brief respite from business and toured Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's incredibly designed house  built directly over a waterfall.      

Among the featured meeting speakers was Joan Eisenstodt. Joan has been working for 35+ years with corporations, associations, hotel companies and DMOs, to facilitate and design meetings, conduct training, conduct departmental audits and negotiate contracts.   Active in PCMA, MPI, ASAE and other industry and non-industry organizations, Joan's passions for meeting preparation, risk anticipation and contingency planning were incorporated into her Friday presentation.
